Finally.. We wait some more!!

Apparently I have been designated the family blogger. This means that anyone who reads this diatribe is destined to be horribly bored and continually frustrated. It has been a couple of months since my last post and in the mean time then there has been an awful lot of waiting going on. Oh, and I learned a little bit about the maternal "nesting" phase. Whoever coined that phrase really meant " Constantly telling your lovely wife that you really don't think we need 6 bottles if you are planning to breastfeed" The fact that she hasn't killed me yet is truly a testament to her undying love.

So for a quick recap of the last couple months.... Here we go!!! We all had birthdays in July except for Trish who had to wait till early August. Bray got a couple of tickets to the Seahawks Cardinals game at Quest on Oct 17th. It will be an awesome boys weekend out and we might just have more fun than is legal in the state of Washington. Jade got a new baseball mitt that will surely put him in the Babe Ruth Hall of Fame. I received from all the extended fam and my loverly (sic) wife with the connections of my golf pro brother a new set of super sweet irons. It basically took away the only excuse I had for my poor play. No more blaming it on the clubs!!! Trish got a new duvet cover and a down comforter. (boring I know but refer to above concerning that evil "nesting phase")

The Rencher reunion was a blast up at the cabin in Island Park. It was refreshing to see all the fam together and it was especially nice to visit with my crazy but "cute as a button" sister Janelle who came all the way from Kentucky to show off her 9 month pregnant belly. Jade and Bray had a blast with all the other kids and it really makes you realize how the Rencher Clan is slowly taking over the globe. MMMHHHAHAHAHAHA (like count Dracula from sesame street does it) Then before we knew it .. Back to School time!! The week before school Jade proudly proclaimed that for the next week he would not leave the house. Except for one time when I made him work for me he was successful. A whole week with only seeing the sun once!! Needless to say he killed some serious Nazi Zombies and bonded with his uncle Mark over COD. We were sooo proud.

About then (middle of August) it started... It began in the car when Trish asked us collectively to make bets on when she would have Baby Kasen (Thanks for the spelling tips Mark and Jay... They stuck) I went out on a limb and quoted the due date. Jade and Bray figured around there as well. Trish was hoping for the best and popped out August 20th!! Every day since then she has tried everything under the sun to help poor Kasen speed thing along. The Castor oil was an especially fun day. I think that all the people who say it works really are your mortal enemies. Sooo sick.. and yet no baby. She tried stairs, bouncing gently on a yoga ball, dancing and we went for long walks every night. Last week after we came home from a particularly triumphant Fantasy football draft in Idaho Falls we had our first real glimmer of hope. We were sure it was go time. I packed our bags and uttered the ill-fated words "20 more minutes of this and we are hospital bound" You guessed it. Twelve minutes later NADA. Friday we had another scare and I uttered those words again. This time 40 minutes later we were in the hospital. Unfortunately, 4 hours later we were home again. Which bring us to today. Finally we are here, waiting in the hospital for real this time. Baby or Bust, that is our motto. (we convinced our super nice doctor to induce. God bless modern medicine) So Hopefully sometime tomorrow I will be changing the nastiest black tar baby diaper any of you have ever seen. If you feel particularly kind and sympathetic come on over. I will save you a diaper.

Much Loves,
Jarem, Trish and growing Fam

Hooray! You make me giggle. I am sorry it was so hard to get your little guy out! Wish I could have met you somewhere in the middle! Then you could have had him a few weeks early and Spence would have had a few more weeks to bake!!! Much love....
